Pitra Dosh is a Karmic Debt of the ancestors which needs to be paid by the person affiliated with Pitru Dosh in the horoscope. Pitra Dosh is said to accumulate in the Jataka, when family members have failed to perform last rites to the departed, Pitru Karayas like Pind Daan, Sola Shraddh, Varshik Shraddha or Tarpan during the important days of Amavaasya including Mahalayam, Grahanam and many more.
